The tesla all-electric truck won orders from DHL and other companies

A leading global logistics company and Canada DHL Freight Services company Fortigo Freight Services Inc. (hereinafter referred to as the "Fortigo) announced Tuesday that they have booked the tesla all-electric released earlier this month by the semi-trailer truck, in the limited testing it on the line.

Tesla plans by electric cars, solar roof and electricity storage, make the economy get rid of the dependence on fossil fuels, and the Semi is expected to be launched in 2019, is the tesla another major step to achieve this goal. 

 

DHL, DHL Supply Chain (DHL Supply Chain) for U.S. manufacturers and retailers to provide transport, warehousing and distribution services, the company said in a statement, has ordered 10 Semi, customer facilities in major U.S. cities to test the car. 

 

"The trucks will be used for shuttle transport and delivery service on the day and will be tested for fuel efficiency from major U.S. markets to other locations in DHL," the company said. 

 

Fortigo headquarters is located in Ontario, Canada, buick etham city (Etobicoke), the company‘s chief executive, Elias DE man goss (Elias Demangos) via email on Tuesday, said the company booked a tesla Semi, has to pay the first payment about c $26000 ($20290), when the vehicle delivery will pay the balance of $181000. 

 

"We will run the truck on a test project to see if it meets our business objectives," he said. 

 

A tesla spokesman, Dave Arnold, said in an email that tesla would not disclose details of orders received by Semi. 

 

The limited early orders received by Semi reflect uncertainty about the outlook for the electric truck market. The tesla Semi can travel only 500 miles (about 800 kilometers) at a time, and is half the distance from the 8-level (north American truck-rating standard) heavy-duty diesel trucks that fill up with oil. In addition, the Semi has a heavy battery that reduces its payload and increases costs, a fatal flaw for buyers who focus on operating costs per mile. 

 

Though this, tesla and Daimler, heavy truck manufacturers Navistar International corp. and its partners such as Volkswagen ag is still in r&d spending a huge sum of money for electric trucks, they bet on the market will change in the next 10 years.
